Great Turnout at Worker Summit!

Saturday, we were at the Worker Summit for a Living Wage in Southwest Houston. The event highlighted the need for Immigration reform and a Living Wage for working families with a march and a press conference.

The event was well attended with a large turn out from a coalition of organizations that we worked with.  The coalition consist of  America Para Todos, Asamblea Popular de Houston, Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR), Centro de Recursos Centroamericanos (CRECEN), Dominican Sisters of Houston, Fe y Justicia Worker Center, For Families and their Education (FIEL), Frente Interdependiente De Latinos Unidos (FILU), Greater Houston Project American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), Harris County AFL-CIO, Houston Organization of Public Employees (HOPE), Houston Peace and Justice Coalition (HPJC), Houston/ Gulf Coast Building Trades Council, International Brotherhood Electrical Workers (IBEW 716), International Union of Operating Engineers ( I.U.O.E.) 450, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA),  Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA), Mi Familia Vota (MFV), People before Profit, Proyecto Latino Americano, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Texas, Texas Organizing Project (TOP), Working America, Youth Invincible, and of course, Texans Together.
