Looking for Leaders to AIM for Alief
The surveys for the AIM (Assessment, Intervention, and Mobilization) project conducted by the City of Houston are complete. Texans Together participated in the data gathering and we're excited to be involved in the next state, Intervention!
Many members of the Alief community have expressed the need to launch a joint initiative, in partnership with the local businesses and community organizations of Alief, to advance the economic, cultural, social and physical welfare of the members of the community. We believe that by bringing together visionary leaders like you, we can rapidly achieve these goals.
We are inviting leaders to join us to be one of the key roundtable leaders. This step forward will be an extension of all the past and current efforts to honor civic participation, diversity and inclusiveness in the Alief community.
Texans Together Education Fund in 2014 partnered with the Houston Health and Human Services to conduct an
AIMProject in the Alief community (zip code 77072). The AIM stands for Assessment, Intervention, and Mobilization and this project has been conducted in various parts of Houston to gather data on the social and economic needs of the community. This data has been utilized by several communities to start community development projects that produce long term solutions to growing problems. The Alief AIM report has been made final and we are now seeking leaders from the nonprofit and faith based communities to assists us in building a collective front to tackle some of big picture social issues identified by the report.
We will be meeting on Thursday June 11, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Alief Community Center located at 11903 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX, 77072. Your participation is key and your leadership will be greatly appreciated by the Alief community as we collectively consider the economic, educational and professional advancement of Alief community members.
We thank Texans Together for providing lunch and The Alief Community Center for providing the conference room for our meeting on June 11, 2015. If you would like to join us please RSVP with us via email. We want to make sure we have sufficient food for our group since we will be meeting in the evening.
